A very long trip, some very, very hot weather and a 24-hour kart race at Le Mans in July 2025 made for a big weekend. Six of us shared the driving for the 24-hour kart race (me, Paul, James, Lewis and two guest drivers), at Le Mans Karting International, right next to the Porsche Curves on the circuit used for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
There’s no chance I’ll ever race in the real 24 Hours of Le Mans, so racing beside the Porsche Curves is about as close as I’ll get, although one day I’d love to go and photograph it instead. My time was split between comms in the pit, driving and sleeping, with photography whenever I could fit it in, and I’m pretty pleased with a few of the spots I found, especially around golden hour.
